What You Need To Know
Above All, Safety Comes FIRST: Shooting real guns with real bullets requires that safety come first above all else. If you are on the range you are encouraged to wear "ear protection "and REQUIRED to wear EYE PROTECTION (Glasses that will protect your eyes). Glasses and ear plugs are available at the scoring shack for visitors and first time shooters.

What We Shoot: We shoot 5 or 6 stages per match. Each stage will be setup with props and targets with a story background. Each stage usually consists of 2 pistols, a rifle and a shotgun

What to Bring: Note: If you don't have all the guns yet, you can usually borrow from one of us. Just ASK. There are always other shooters willing to loan equipment.

Revolvers: We generally shoot with 2 pistols.
  • Single action Cartridge, Percussion, or Black Powder revolvers with fixed or adjustable sights
  • Manufactured prior to 1896 or reproductions thereof
  • 0.32 or larger Pistol caliber
Rifles:
  • Lever or Slide Action, tubular fed, exposed hammer rifle or carbine manufactured prior to 1899, or reproduction thereof
  • Center fire .25 or larger, pistol caliber
  • Open iron sights or original style tang mounted peep sight
  • Barrel length minimum is 16 inches
Shotgun:
  • Side by Side without automatic ejectors. Pump or Lever Action Shotguns with exposed hammer (No military configurations)
  • 20, 16, 12, 10 Gauge, Short brass only, No magnum loads
  • Barrel length minimum is 18 inches

Ammunition needed: Approximately 60 rounds for pistols (1,000 fps max, 60 power factor min.) and 60 rounds for rifle (1,400 fps max). No jacketed bullets - lead only . About 25 rounds for shotgun Must be # 4 shot or smaller, No High Brass or Magnum loads allowed 

What to Wear: 
We dress in one of two different fashions as much as possible:

  • Period "Old Western" (1860 to 1899)
  • "Movie Western", (John Wayne, The Lone Ranger, etc.).
